Ivex View

Ivex View is a Gerber viewer that makes it easy to check your photo plots before making expensive film. View reads Gerber files from Ivex WinBoard PCB and over 20 other vendors.

Using a viewer to check photo-plot files allows you to look for irregularities in the Gerber output. Then if a problem is found, the board can be corrected and a new output generated. This can save time and money!

Ivex View has the same look and feel as other Ivex products you already use. In addition to pre-viewing files, you can manage multi-layer designs in one job file, highlight D-Codes, and print positive or negative outputs.

Top Eight Reasons to View your Designs in Ivex View!

  1. Save money by viewing your own design.
  2. Views over 20 formats from most PCB layout programs.
  3. Prints photo-positive or photo-negative artwork on your printer.
  4. Save time by producing manufacturable boards the first time!
  5. Create job project files to organize multi-layer designs quickly and easily.
  6. Display drill holes from NC Drill output.
  7. Launch directly from Ivex WinBoard so you can easily view your designs.
  8. Great price and outstanding performance.

The PCB Design Process

Most Printed Circuit Boards are made with a process known as Gerber Photo-plotting. Once the board is designed, a photo-plot output is made. Professional PCB programs include the ability to make this Gerber photo-plot output.

The Gerber photo-plot output is then used to make "film". Just like film from a camera, the film produced from the photo-plot is used to expose the printed circuit board. This is the start of the manufacturing process.

Film is made for each "layer" of the board, such as component side copper layer, solder side copper layer, silk screen layers, solder mask layers and so on. Making film for each layer can be expensive. If there are any errors in the film, the board will be manufactured incorrectly.

Using a viewer to pre-view the photo-plot files, you can look for irregularities in the Gerber output. Then if a problem is found, the board can be corrected and a new output generated. This can save you time and money!
